Charity is 33 years old, married and lives in Clarin, Misamis Occidental, Philippines. She has four school-aged children. She sells good food at home to earn a living. She has been working on this for three years and luckily earns a monthly sum of PHP 6,000. Charity has applied for a loan of PHP 5,000 at GDMPC to purchase adequate supplies needed in her food production business undertakings. She has been a member of GDMPC for almost a year. She hopes to have a small food vending area in the marketplace to earn more income and meet her daily needs.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
