Rafael Angel
Rafael is a member of the “Bonitas de Platanares” (Beautiful Bananas) community in P. Zeledon, San Jose province. In this zone people practice farming; the inhabitants in their majority are producers of both coffee and cattle.

Rafael Ángel es vecino de la comunidad de las Bonitas de Platanares, en Pérez Zeledón, de la provincia de San José. Es una zona donde se presenta la actividad agropecuaria, los habitantes de la región en su mayoría son productores de café y de ganado doble propósito.
El está solicitando un préstamo por el monto de ₡600.000 (seiscientos mil colones), esto para la compra de productos de limpieza para su local, el cual es una pañalera llamada Pérez, donde tiene a la mano todo lo que los vecinos necesitan en el momento.
El desea incrementar el negocio para que su microempresa crezca cada día más y darles a sus clientes lo mejor. El negocio de Rafael inicio como un nuevo ingreso para mejorar la calidad de vida de mi familia, y así darles un mejor estudio a sus hijos. Su meta es poder darle final a todos sus proyectos cumpliendo con sus expectativas.

As a small and relatively young MFI located in Costa Rica, EDESA has difficulty attracting other sources of capital. Many other microfinance funders do not work in Costa Rica, because overall the country is too rich. However, organizations such as EDESA work with extremely marginalized populations in Costa Rica that really need the access to capital that EDESA provides.
