Mrs. Khive is a widow, age 54, living in Baray district, Kompong Tom Province, Cambodia. Although she hasn’t a husband to help her, she is the main breadwinner in her family.
Mrs. Khive is the mother of three kids and is a vermicelli seller in her village. Seeing the hardships of their mother, all three kids have found suitable work to do in Phnom Penh. With their help it makes it easier for Mrs. Khive to live than in the past.
After she discussed it with all her children, Mrs. Khive wishes to borrow the amount of $1,100 in order to expand her business and purchase goods to sell at her own house.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
