Hay is a cake-seller and her husband is an artist. The couple has three children, all of whom are working in a beautician shop. The couple earns 8 USD daily and, together, their children earn 4 USD a day. Each month, Hay and her family spend 100 USD on food, 10 USD on electricity, 5 USD on rent and 10 USD on other expenses.
Hay is requesting a 1,000 USD loan to buy ingredients and equipment to start a business making and selling food. She has been planning to open this business for a long time, but has not been able to save enough money to start. This loan will enable her to start her new food-selling business and Hay hopes to earn more income than she currently does selling cake.
