Beatrice is a single mother of four children, all of whom have graduated from school. She lives in a rental house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is school fees.
For the past eight years, she has operated a retail shop business selling household commodities. She faces the major challenge of the high cost of transportation in her business. She dreams of expanding her business to a wholesale shop in the future.
With the KSHS 20,000, she wants to start a constructions supplies business, purchase construction supplies of cement and sand. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
