Rezo is from the village of Apnia, Akhalkalaki District, South Georgia. He is 50 years old and lives with his wife, Natela, and their 20-year-old daughter.
Rezo is a farmer. He has 2 milk cows, from which Natela produces 40 kg of cheese per month, which she sells locally. The family also owns 6 hectares of agricultural land, of which 3 hectares is used to grow potatoes, 2 hectares to grow barley and 1 hectare to grow wheat. The family works hard in the spring and summer months to get a good harvest. Rezo takes all of the harvested products to the capital city and sells them on the open market.
Rezo plans to use the requested credit to purchase a large sized metal rake to be used for raking the grass in August. Rezo rakes his fields for hours. He will store the collected grass and use it in the winter for feeding the cows. Once he has his own raking equipment, he won’t have to rent it from neighboring farmers. His costs will diminish and, accordingly, the family's profit will increase and they will be able to improve their living conditions.
