Florence is a resident of Kitale, where she works as a kindergarten teacher. She also practices farming.
She has been farming for over 20 years with her produce of milk, maize and beans going to the local market. She is the mother of six children who are all adults, though the last born is still in school.
Florence requested a loan of 31,200 KES from Juhudi Kilimo to purchase and insure a dairy cow. She says her focus is to see the last born through his education, and she strongly believes farming will help her achieve this. She hopes to have acquired two more dairy cows in five years.
She says market fluctuations and animal diseases are the greatest challenges in farming.
