Linda is a single woman who lives in a rental house that has electricity and piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is rent for her house.
For the past seven years, she has owned a preparatory school, teaching children from community. She faces a major challenge in her business when parents of students she teaches delay paying school fees. She dreams of expanding her school and equipping it with enough teaching materials to incorporate upper classes in the future.
With the 80,000 Kenyan shillings from this loan, Linda wants to purchase sand and cement to renovate her school, and buy stationery. She decided to join Kiva field partner Yehu in order to access loans with the hope of boosting her business.
