Antonio is a 60-year-old man, married, and lives in Lopez Jaena, Misamis Occidental, Philippines. He has two good children with him. He owns and operates a sari-sari store to earn a living. He generates a total of PHP 20,000 a month from the store activity. His business is good enough that he has managed to run the business for ten successful years already.
Antonio has requested a loan of PHP 50,000 at GDMPC to purchase additional grocery stocks, school and office supplies to sell. He has been a member of GDMPC for three years. He hopes to expand the managed store and make a good income in the future.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
