Ileine Luisa
Ileine lives in Malambo, a metropolitan area within the city of Barranquilla, five km from the airport. It’s contiguous with the cities of Soledad, Sabanagrande, and Santo Tomás. This makes the social composition very special because here we find a mix of people from all over the country. They all work either on their own or at the Malambo Inc – PIMSA – Industrial Park, a private industry complex with a complete infrastructure of services designed to lower costs for the businesses located within its installations. They also provide guaranteed labor to the zone’s companies.

Here she and her husband sell cell phones and accessories and also repair and maintain this equipment. Her husband knows electronics. They also have a three month old son.

Ileine’s father in law started this business seven years ago and sold it to this couple in order to help them generate their own income so that they could support their household. Her parents also helped them with their initial capital and since then they have managed to get ahead with their higher education. Her goal and great challenge is to prosper in her business, so that they can provide a quality education to their son. This Kiva loan will be the first she receives through “Fundaciòn Mario Santo Domingo” and she will use the money to buy newer model cell phones, carriers, repair tools, and display cases to show their products. Her dream is to have a new, well-positioned storefront and complete her studies. This is certainly a great challenge.
