Carlos
Carlos was born in Maputo City, Maputo Province in southern Mozambique. He is married and has six children between the ages of 1 and 20; the elder children go to school. Carlos finished eighth grade and quit school because of financial problems. He lives in his own house with his family and does not support anyone else.

Carlos left Maputo to move to Boane, where he lives now. For six years he has worked as a driver and has a monthly income of 5,000 meticais, which he uses for household expenses. He saves some money in his bank account.

Carlos has never had loans from other banks. He learned about Hluvuku through friends who are also customers of the institution. This is his third loan with Hluvuku. He is asking for 15,000 meticais, which he will use to buy construction materials (iron, sand, cement, zinc sheets, stone and other items) for his housing project. The earlier loans were for 10,000 meticais and 10,000 meticais, all for his housing project.

Carlos is confident that he will make his payments on schedule, and he dreams of finishing his house and furnishing it to make his family more comfortable. To do this he intends to ask Hluvuku for more loans.
