Mohamad is a 46-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife and two young children who are still attending school. He has owned a mini-market in his village since 2007. He sells all types of food products and drinks. His store is located in a crowded area so there are a good number of clients passing by his shop. Those customers ask for additional products, which don’t exist in Mohamad’s store. So today, Mohamad is requesting to borrow $2,000 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to increase his store’s inventory and therefore satisfy his customers' demands. He has high hopes for the future of his business.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
