Cristian Camilo
At barely 20 years of age, Cristian is a small businessman who dreams of getting his business ahead day by day. He raises and fattens hogs, a job that he learned thanks to his father who did this his whole life. This is how Cristian learned, bit by bit, everything he needs in this work.

He now has his own hogs, to whom he dedicates the majority of his time, caring for them and keeping their environment in very good conditions. Without a doubt, it is expensive to sustain these hogs, and he does not currently have the capital that he needs to invest in buying them the food and all necessary items for their well-being. For this reason, Cristian is requesting a loan which will help him to make his business grow. This will proportionally improve his quality of life. His dream is to increase his income so that in the future he can have a prosperous business which will allow him to get his family ahead.

Important Information

This loan is structured on Kiva as a bullet loan, which means a single payment is required at the end of the loan term. By Colombian law, Kiva's partner Interactuar is required to offer borrowers loans with a variable interest rate that fluctuates with the market rate. Because fixed monthly payments are applied first to interest and then to principal, Interactuar is unable to predict upfront what portion of each repayment would go towards the loan principal. This creates a challenge with Kiva's system, which doesn't allow for unpredictable principal payments, and can result in some Interactuar clients appearing falsely delinquent. To remedy this, the loan has an end-of-term repayment plan on Kiva, but the borrower will continue scheduled monthly repayments to Interactuar, who will then pass along the principal amount to Kiva lenders. This means that you may see repayments made on this loan throughout the repayment term, as opposed to receiving repayment in full at the end of the loan term.
