A loan of $1,100 helped to buy five 25-kg sacks of rice, two sacks of beans, and thirty length of cloth.

Edith Akomou's story

Édith is married and supports four children, who are doing very well in school. She rents a place with her children and husband, who is a driver at SIBEAU, a local company. She is aided at home by her husband when it comes to household expenses.

Priviledged with at least sixteen years of experience, Édith makes meals and sells them in a stall outside her home located in Calavi. Along with this, she has included the distribution of fabrics with the brand names of HITAGET, VLISCO, and others. Her customers are those living in her commercial district and nearby. She stocks up at the international market of Benin called Tokpa.

Édith requested and received the renewal of a loan at FINADEV for developing her business, so as to cope with the needs of her customer. She is now on her third loan. The extra revenues generated by this financial support will enable her to improve her family’s living conditions. Édith would like to see her business experience progress in the future.
