Mwanaisha is a married woman with three children, two of whom attend school while one is still young for school. She lives in a rental house that has electricity but not piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food, school fees and rent bills.
For the past two years, she has operated a water vending business, selling from home to her neighbours and passersby. She faces a major challenge of seasonality in her business. Her major dream is to expand her business and open another business. She decided to join Kiva partner Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
With the loan of Kshs 40,000 she wants to establish a vegetable stall and she will purchase sacks of green vegetables, potatoes, tomatoes and onions. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
