Mwanakombo is a married woman with eight children, four girls and four boys. She owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees.
For the past three years, she has operated a business of buying and selling goats. Her potential customers are neighbors and butcher operators. She faces a major challenge of seasonality in her business. Her major dream is to expand her business in the future.
With the 10,000 KES she wants to purchase six goats and pay for their transport. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
