The “Vicuñas de Oro” (Golden Vicuñas) communal bank will start its first cycle in Pro Mujer as part of the Los Andes Focal Center. It has six members led by a governing board headed by Claudina. The members are engaged in a variety of businesses. Among them are: eatery, blanket weaving, mirror sales, bricklaying, carpentry and fried pork production.

Claudina indicates that this is the first time she’s worked with Pro Mujer and that she joined the institution thanks to an invitation from one of the promoters. She currently has a business selling food that she started two years ago and that she learned from her mother.

The loan she’ll take out now is to increase capital; she will purchase noodles, rice, sugar, etc. at wholesale in La Ceja and 16 de Julio market. Once she makes the food she’ll sell it at a minibus stop. This way of working allows her to generate family income because she’s single and has three children.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she replies that she likes the credit and health training.

La A.C. “VICUÑAS DE ORO” iniciará su primer ciclo en Pro Mujer, como parte del centro focal Los Andes, está compuesta por seis integrantes y está dirigida por una mesa directiva encabezada por la señora Claudina. Los negocios que las integrantes de la asociación comunal llevan adelante son variados entre ellos tenemos: Comedera, tejido de mantas, venta de espejos, albañil, carpintería, producción de chicharrones.

La señora Claudina, indica que es la primera vez que trabaja con Pro Mujer y que integro la institución por invitación de una promotora. En la actualidad ella tiene un negocio de tienda de venta de comida que inicio desde hace dos años, el que aprendió de su madre.

El crédito que ahora sacará es para la compra aumentar su capital (compra de fideos, azúcar, arroz, etc.) que comprará por mayor de la Ceja y 16 de Julio y que posterior a la elaboración lo venderá en una parada de minibus. Esta forma de trabajo le permite generar recursos para apoyar a su familia, pues ella es soltera y tiene tres hijos.

Cuando se le consulta qué le gusta de Pro Mujer, ella responde que le gusta la capacitación en crédito y salud.
