Raul works from Monday to Friday as a caretaker in a church in the city. He also sells new and used books. He needs this loan to pay the taxes on his parents' house and help them in this way. He lives in his parents' home which is located in the Sopocachi district of the city of La Paz. Raul is single and doesn't have any children. He has been very happy with the previous loans that he has received as they helped him to further strengthen his book sales business.
El señor Raul trabaja como portero de lunes a viernes en una iglesia de la ciudad y también se dedica a la venta de libros tanto usados como nuevos. El crédito lo requiere para cancelar los impuestos de la casa de sus padres y de esta manera ayudarles. Vive en la casa de sus padres misma queda ubicada en la zona de Sopocachi en la ciudad de La Paz; es soltero y no tiene hijos. El cliente se encuentra muy satisfecho con los créditos anteriores que se le otorgaron, pues así pudo afianzar más su negocio de venta de libros.
IMPRO is a small non-profit organization that has been offering micro credit to the working poor in the Bolivian cities of La Paz and El Alto since 1995. IMPRO’s goal is to fight poverty by offering loans to small business owners who cannot access credit through the regular banking system due to a lack of guarantees or collateral.
To ensure that everyone has access to credit, IMPRO maintains a low interest rate by minimizing operational costs. IMPRO’s partnership with Kiva, which began in 2007, has allowed IMPRO to expand its services while maintaining these low interest rates.
