Getrude is a married woman with two children, one of whom attends school. She lives in a rental house that has electricity and piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are rent and school fees.
For the past five years, she has operated a tailoring business, selling in a shop to her neighbors and passersby. She faces a major challenge of seasonality in her business. She dreams of establishing a textile industry in the future.
With the KSHS 30,000, she wants to purchase bundles of cloth materials and threads for her business. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
