K. is a 55-year-old man living with his wife and six children, four of whom are still attending school. In 1990, he started farming. His work consists of cultivating all types of vegetables according to the season, and distributing them to specified agricultural markets he works with. He's thankful for his business; it allows him to earn a good income for his family.
Today, he is asking to borrow $1200 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to buy new farming supplies such as fertilizers and seeds. He is planning to expand his business and he is very confident that he will be able to achieve substantial growth in the coming season.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
