Agnes is a married woman with one child who is still too young for school. She owns a house that has electricity and piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food for the family.
For the past two years, she has operated a boda boda (motorcycle) business, her potential customers are neighbors and passersby. Her greatest challenge is seasonality, especially during the rainy season when it becomes difficult to operate her business. She dreams of establishing a boutique business in the future.
With the KSHS 20,000, she wants to purchase spare motorcycle spokes, tires and rims and to pay transport charges. She decided to join Yehu because of its good customer services.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
