This loan will help Omar to buy supplies, fertilizers and manure for his crops. Loans have supported him and helped increase his crop production. He has faced challenges such as illnesses amongst his workers, pest infestations and plant diseases. His dream is to enjoy good health so that he can continue working and educating his children.

In his spare time, he enjoys going for walks with his family.

Omar Leonardo tiene 44 años, es casado vive con la esposa y los hijos de 12 y 15 años, vive en el Recinto El Progreso Perteneciente al Cantón Chillanes.

Los miembros de la V.R.C EL PROGRESO, está ubicada a 15 minutos de la oficina en Chillanes, esta constituida por 13 socios es el tercer crédito que solicitan a la cooperativa, los miembros de esta ventanilla se dedican a la agricultura siembran cacao, maiz, platano, soya y yuca.

Omar se dedica a la agricultura siembra cacao, maiz, platano, soya y yuca en tierras propias. Las compras las realiza en Chillanes y San Pablo y las vende en la feria de los domingos en Chillanes.

El crédito le ayudará en la compra de insumos, fertilizantes y abonos para los cultivos, el crédito le apoyado de manera que han incrementado la producción de los cultivos. Ha enfrentado desafíos como enfermedades de los trabajadores y las plagas y enfermedades en los cultivos. Su sueño es tener buena salud para seguir trabajando y educar a los hijos.

En los tiempos libres le gusta salir de paseo con la familia.

This loan is administered by Cooperativa San Jose, a 45,000-member credit union located high in the Andes Mountains of Ecuador’s poorest province, Bolivar. They offer a unique loan called “Ventanillas Rurales” [Window to the Countryside], which uses a group guarantee but is an individual loan with a savings component, mostly to rural borrowers.
