Rosana is 42 years old and lives in Poblacion 4, Clarin, Misamis Occidental, Philippines. She is a married woman and a mother of four school-age children. Rosana has a food business to make a living. She sells expensive fish in the local market everyday. She sells fish like blue marlin and tuna. She has been engaged in this business for 25 years. Each month, she earns PHP 10,000 from this activity. She has requested a loan of PHP 30,000 to purchase expensive fish to sell. Rosana has been a member of GDMPC for three years. In the future, Rosana hopes to gain more income from her business and purchase a motorcycle to be used for her business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
