Josephine is married woman and a mother of three school-aged children. She is 43 years old and lives in Gata Daku, Clarin, Misamis Occidental, Philippines.
Josephine owns a service-based business, providing delivery truck services to her local community in order to make a living. Her delivery services are used in the distribution of corn and rice grains. Josephine has been engaged in this service for three years. She earns approximately PHP 10,000 every month from this work. She has requested a loan of PHP 15,000.00 to pay the labor costs to repair her delivery truck.
Josephine has been member of GDMPC for one year. In the future, Josephine hopes to gain more income and establish a new business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
