The Arabela group is made up of three hard-working and enterprising women. The group coordinator is Mrs. Auxiliadora del Socorro, age 42. She has sold nactamales [a traditional dish-dough, filled with meat and vegetables and wrapped in plantain leaves] and dairy products for five years. She started this business selling chocolate bananas, ice creams...etc. With her earnings, she started making small amounts of nactamales.
She has four children, and her oldest daughter (age 16) helps her with the business. Auxiliadora's goal is to invest in another business, such as clothing and shoe sales.
The other members are Mayda, age 30, who sells tortillas and dairy products, and Jenny de los Angeles, age 24, who has sold cosmetics, clothing and perfumes for five years.

El grupo Arabela lo conforman tres mujeres trabajadoras y emprendedoras. La coordinadora del grupo es la señora Auxiliadora del Socorro de 42 años se dedica al comercio de nacatamales y chiverías desde hace 5 años. Este negocio lo inicio con la venta de chocobanos, helados…etc. con las ganancias empezó a realizar pequeñas cantidades de nacatamales.
Ella tiene cuatro hijos de los cuales su hija menor de 16 años le ayuda en el negocio. La meta de Auxiliadora es invertir en otro negocio como la venta de ropa y calzado.
Las otras integrantes son Mayda de 30 años quien tiene una tortillería y vende chiverías y Jenny de los Ángeles de 24 años comercializa desde hace 5 años cosméticos, ropa y perfumes.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee.
