A loan of $1,000 helped a member to buy bundles of clothing.

Mujeres Victoriosas Group's story

The “Mujeres Victoriosas” (Victorious Women) Communal Bank is comprised of three hard-working women; Ana, Concepción, and Guadalupe.

Ana, age 55, is the group coordinator. Twenty years ago she invested her savings in a bundle of clothes. She currently sells three bundles of clothes and footwear. Her daughter and her life partner help her. Her dream is to prosper, to add to her business, and to grow. She will use the loan to buy merchandise.

Concepción sells clothes in an itinerant manner in Mateare. She also has a small business selling cooked beans, “choco bananas” (chocolate covered bananas), cold drinks, ice cream, and pastries.

Guadalupe sells soft drinks and refreshments, etc. She has also been selling clothing for 18 years.
