A loan of $9,375 helps to pay for a new roof, which will improve the safety and security of Dewane's and his wife's home.
Dewane's story
Dewane and his wife Cynthia (pictured left) have been married for many years, and have three adult children together. The couple live on a fixed income and they have both been dealing with health problems, which are costly.
Dewane reached out to SELF because the roof on their home was failing, and he was recommended to the program by the contractor who knew SELF helped people on fixed incomes.
He is hoping that SELF and Kiva can help provide him and his wife with a payment schedule that is affordable to replace their roof before the hurricane season and before heavy rains cause lasting damage.
