Mamuka comes from the village of Nakhshirghele in the Imereti district. He is 34 years old and lives with his wife, Maya, their 7-year-old daughter, Lika, and his mother.
Mamuka and Maya head the agricultural business of the family. They have two milk cows and sell approximately 50 kg of cheese per month to local dairy products retailers. Also the family owns 0.7 hectare of agricultural land, where they grow tomatoes, strawberries and other crops. The sell the harvested fruit and vegetables locally.
Along with working at their own farm, Mamuka and Maya also work in neighborhood farms as milkers. Each of them gets a monthly salary in the amount of 100 GEL.
With the requested credit, Mamuka plans to renovate the cattle shed, as it is already old and needs to be renovated before winter starts. Otherwise it won’t keep a warm temperature in the winter and the cows may be damaged.
In the future, Mamuka plans to save and renovate his house to improve the living conditions for the family.
