Vicky's story

Meet Vicky, who is a refugee mother of four children. Despite what she has faced in life, she chooses not to give up but to work hard to be a better person.

She has continued to work hard. The things that she used to struggle with have passed. Now, she is able to provide for her family, including some basic necessities like food and other basic needs.

All of her children are schoolgoing and live with her in Yumbe. She is a very hardworking person and she does everything possible to take care of her family.

She grows sorghum, maize, sweet potatoes and beans. The food from her garden is mainly for home consumption, with a little bit extra to sell.

She has many customers and the demand for food is very high, but she is not able to sell as much as she would like to due to limited stock.

She would like to add more stock so that she can boost her sales and pay school fees.

She is forever grateful for all of the support that VisionFund and Kiva have given her.
