Maritza Emerita
Maritza Emerita is 49 years old, married, and has five children. She lives in Venta Nueva community, 37km from Olancho department. Maritza's mother couldn't send her to school so she taught her to earn a living by taking her to work with her in an eatery which belonged to the family. When Maritza was old enough to start living independently, she followed her mother's example. However, for 10 years now she has been selling merchandise.

One of the challenges Maritza faces is that her sales have decreased. In addition, she makes her sales as an itinerant vendor and the areas she visits are high crime areas. Her dream is to own her own store so that she no longer has to run the risk of people assaulting her and so that she can devote more time to her family.

Maritza needs the loan that she is requesting in order to buy more products and a greater variety of products such as men's and ladies' clothes and shoes, and bedclothes. She has received three loans from FAMA and has made her repayments punctually.
