Celia Emerita

Celia Emerita's story

Celia lives in the community of El Triunfo, with her two children in a small family home. She is a hardworking and resilient mother.

As the head of her household, she has found ways to earn an income to support them. She raises free-range chickens and other small animals, and also grows tropical fruits on small plots. In this way, she can produce food for her own consumption and sell a portion on a small scale. She also uses scraps to feed her animals organically, giving them a healthy diet.

Celia hopes to expand her agricultural work, both with her chickens and her crops. For this reason, she is requesting a loan from the Kiva organization. Celia dreams of having a home in the city so she can offer her children a better future, with greater access to education.
