Maria Rosa
A loan of $1,500 helps to buy a Holstein bull calf, a dual-purpose Holstein heifer, and agricultural supplies.

Maria Rosa's story
Rosa is a 34-year-old Indigenous woman who lives with her mother in the community of Jatunpamba, where she built her own small house constructed of brick and fiber cement roofing on a plot of land she received as an inheritance. She has neither children nor a partner and is focused on her agricultural work, an endeavor she has been steadily growing through hard work over the past 15 years.
She wishes to improve the breed of her dairy cows so that they produce more liters of milk per day; to this end, she is requesting a loan to invest in the purchase of a Holstein bull calf and a dual-purpose Holstein heifer. This will allow her to gradually improve the genetics of her entire herd and generate increased income.
Additionally, she aims to boost her cultivation of corn and capiro potatoes, crops that will enable her to cover her basic needs while building up savings to eventually acquire substantial assets for her future.
