Mai
A loan of $1,925 helps to buy more raw materials.

Mai's story
Mrs. Mai is 45 years old and lives with her family in Nga An Commune. She is a mother of seven children. Her two eldest children are married, while the third and fourth children are working to help support the family. Her fifth child is currently studying at Mai Anh Tuấn Secondary School in Nga Sơn, and her sixth and seventh children are studying at Nga Phú Secondary School. With a large family and limited income, she faces many financial challenges in providing for her children.
She has over nine years of experience in weaving sedge products. Her husband works as a construction worker but is often ill, so she is the main income earner. Her family is classified as a low-income household in the community. She is applying for her second loan from Thanh Hóa MFI to expand her sedge weaving business by purchasing more raw materials to produce mats, handicrafts, ropes, nets, and hats. Her previous loan has already helped improve her family’s living conditions.
Her main difficulty is that the products she makes do not always sell at good prices. In the future, she hopes her family will stay healthy and happy, that she can earn enough to support her children’s education, and that she can save some money to prepare for unexpected risks such as illness or unemployment.
