Marie is 45 years old and married with two children, aged 15 and 30. She runs a general store in Lumley, near Freetown.
Marie has been in this business for ten years and sells food storage containers at her store. She also earns income from another business selling clothes, shirts, and dresses. She says that the main challenge to her business is during the rainy season when there is a low percentage of sales.
She requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase more domestic items. Marie says that the extra income from this loan will allow her to expand her business. In the future, she wants to offer different products to sell.
