Mrs Fatou, aged 44 but looking younger, is a very active woman. She has been in her trade for more than six years. In the past she benefited from four loans granted by the microfinance institution U-IMCEC, which she has repaid successfully. In addition to being an experienced businesswoman, Fatou is the mother of eight children, the eldest being 28.
Fatou sells vegetables harvested on the fields of her next of kin, which reduces her purchase price. She seeks this loan to increase her supply of carrots, cabbages, peppers, eggplants, etc. Since she is a widow and the breadwinner of the family, she needs a higher profit margin to be able to provide her family with food.
