This is the first time that this group has asked for financing from ALIDé in order to enhance the capacity of their business. The group representative is Toussaint; she is the one raising her hand in the photo. Toussaint is 57 years old and lives in Benin. Toussaint is a widow and has four children, all educated, who no longer live with her. In order to support each of their needs, for eleven years, Toussaint has taken up the sale of prepared casava. Toussaint purchases her raw casava at one of the largest markets in Benin. In pursuit of better satisfying her clients and to increase her sales and revenues, Toussaint and the other members of the Mahukpego de Agbato Group are asking for their first loan.

Le groupe MAHUKPEGO DE AGBATO est composé de quatre personnes qui habitent la même localité C'est la première fois que ce groupe sollicite l'aide financier de ALIDé, afin d'élever le niveau de leur activité. La représentante du groupe du nom de Toussaint est celle qui a la main levée sur la photo. Toussaint a 57 ans et vit au Bénin. Toussaint est une veuve qui a quatre enfants, tous scolarisés et qui ne sont plus à sa charge. Pour subvenir à ses propres besoins, Toussaint mène comme activité depuis onze ans la vente de la pâte du manioc qu'elle prépare. Toussaint s’approvisionne en manioc dans l’un des plus grands marchés du Bénin. Dans la quête de la satisfaction de sa clientèle et pour accroître son chiffre d’affaires et son revenu, Toussaint sollicite ensemble avec les autres membres du groupe MAHUKPEGO DE AGBATO, un premier crédit.

About Alidé

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients. This is a Group Loan
