Sarah
A loan of $850 helps to buy more potatoes and poultry birds for planting and rearing, respectively.

Sarah's story
Sarah is 54 years old and lives in the town of Gayaza in the Gayaza region of Uganda. She is married and has 6 children, with 4 of them currently in school.
For the past 6 years, Sarah has been working hard to manage her farming and poultry rearing, which sells poultry and sweet potatoes. To help expand her business, Sarah has requested a loan of 3,000,000 UGX from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more potatoes and birds for planting and rearing, respectively. It will help Sarah generate greater profits, and she will be able to educate her children.
Sarah hopes that in the future she will be able to construct rental units.
Sarah is a member of BRAC's microfinance program, which primarily serves small-group members like her who do not have the collateral for commercial loans but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
