Esther
A loan of $1,125 helps to buy books and another printer to use at her stationary.

Esther's story
Esther is 36 years old and lives in the town of Kawempe in the Central region of Uganda. For the past 4 years, Esther has been working hard to manage her Stationary, which sells stationery items like books and pens. To help expand her business, Esther has requested a loan of 4,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy another printer to use at the stationery, and books and pens to sell. This will help Esther to generate greater profits, manage to pay the loan, and buy food for the family.
Esther hopes that in the future she will be able to build rental houses for business. She is a member of BRAC's microfinance program, which primarily serves small-group members like her who do not have the collateral for commercial loans but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
