Tazagul's Group
In this Group: Tazagul , Salima, Abdimuhtar
Tazagul, 31, is the treasurer of this group. This woman lifted herself and her family out of poverty thanks to her strong character, good entrepreneurial skills and the fruitful land of Kyrgyzstan. Tazagul says that the land has always fed her and her family, especially the proceeds from cotton crops. In Central Asia cotton is called “white gold” for its enormous reserves and importance in economy. Tazagul’s relationship towards this product started in 1993, when she spent 3,000 soms on planting cotton seeds on her small piece of land. She has 18 years of farming experience. Tazagul is married to a construction worker, who contributes 5,000 soms a month towards the family's needs, and they have six young children. Currently she cultivates cotton on 0.54 hectares of land, which brings in 3,000 soms a month. The purpose of this loan is to purchase fertilizers.

Additional Information

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
