A loan of $975 helps to buy more African Wax Print for making dresses and shirts.

Imelda's story
Imelda is 43 years old and lives in the town of Kiyinda in the Kiyinda region of Uganda. She is married and has 3 children who are all currently in school. For the past 10 years, Imelda has been working hard to manage her tailoring shop which sells African wear.
To help expand her business, Imelda has requested a loan of 3,500,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more African Wax Print for making dresses and shirts and it will help Imelda to generate greater profits and improvement in the family's well-being and business boosting.
Imelda hopes that in the future she will be able to buy land. She is a member of BRAC's microfinance program which primarily serves small-group members like her who do not have the collateral for commercial loans but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
