Esther's story
Esther, a vibrant 40-year-old, who is a widow with five children, has overcome many obstacles in life. She never had the opportunity to attend school yet she has become a successful businesswoman, running a thriving rice, fish, red oil, kola and other food items business. She learned the trade from her oldest sister. For the past five years, she’s managed her sales seamlessly, transporting her supplies with ease using either a car or a kehkeh.
'She works tirelessly 6 days a week, from Monday to Saturday, building strong relationships with her loyal customers. With her sights set on expanding her business, she has applied for a loan through BRAC Liberia, a Kiva lending partner.
This support will allow her to purchase more rice, fish, red oil, kola and other food items to sell, bringing her one step closer to realizing her dream of growth.
