Elemeziyo's story
Elemezio is 63 years old and lives in the town of Kiyinda in the Kiyinda region of Uganda. He is married and has 9 children with 2 of them currently in school.
For the past 26 years, Elemezio has been working hard to manage his livestock rearing, which sells cattle. To help expand his business, Elemezio has requested a loan of 2,500,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more cattle for sale, and will help Elemezio to generate greater profits and improve his family's standards of living.
Elemezio hopes that in the future he will be able to buy land. He is a member of BRAC's microfinance program, which primarily serves small-group members like him who do not have collateral for commercial loans but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
