Beatrice

Beatrice is 46 and lives in the town of Kawempe in the Kawempe region of Uganda. She is married and has 4 children who are all currently in school. For the past 10 years, Beatrice has been working hard to manage her poultry business, which raises sells poultry. To help expand her business, Beatrice has requested a loan of Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more hens  and will help Beatrice to generate greater profits and be able to expand her business. Beatrice intends to expand her business. She is a member of BRAC's microfinance program, which primarily serves small-group members like her who do not have collateral for commercial loans but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
