Caroline
A loan of $1,125 helps to buy more food for cooking in her restaurant.

Caroline's story
Caroline is 35 years old and lives in the town of Matugga in the Matugga region of Uganda. She is married and has 3 children who are all currently in school. For the past 11 years, Caroline has been working hard to manage her restaurant, which sells cooked food.
To help expand her business, Caroline has requested a loan of 4,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more food for cooking, and will help Caroline to generate greater profits so she will be able to educate her children.
Caroline hopes that in the future she will be able to construct rental units. She is a member of BRAC's microfinance program, which primarily serves small-group members like her who do not have collateral for commercial loans but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
