Rat
A loan of $3,850 helps to buy a plot of farming land, around a half hectare, to grow this short term rice.

Rat's story
Rat is 43 years old and has been farming rice for 20 years. He currently cultivates short-term rice on 2 hectares of his own land. Each 90-day growing cycle yields approximately 4 tons per hectare, and he harvests twice per year. He sells his rice directly to a local buyer in his village. Rat also rents around 6 hectares of additional land from another villager to expand his production. The rental cost is around $100 per hectare per year.
To increase his production further, Rat has applied for a loan of 15,400,000 KHR to purchase an additional 0.5 hectare of farmland. With this expansion, his total owned land will increase to 2.5 hectares, enabling him to produce an additional 2 tons of rice per cycle.
