Delmy Sarai
A loan of $1,600 helps to buy sweet corn to maintain her inventory for tamale sales.

Delmy Sarai's story
Delmy is 33 years old, single, and lives with her three children, who are 12, 10, and 8 years old, in her family's property. Delmy has been making and selling sweet corn tamales for the past 15 years. She works 4 days a week; her day starts at 9:00 am when she prepares the corn to take to the mill. Once everything is ready, she prepares the tamales to sell in her area from 3:00 pm onward.
Delmy is seeking a loan to invest in her business. The borrowed funds will be used to buy sweet corn to maintain her inventory for tamale sales. This investment will lower her costs and allow her to increase sales and earnings. She plans to save these additional earnings for purchases of raw materials. Her advantage is that the product she sells is in high demand.
She hopes to grow her business and achieve economic stability to improve the family's lifestyle and provide educational opportunities for her children.
