A loan of $15,000 helps a family-owned farm rebuild their farm shop to serve the local community with pasture raised meats.

Kimberly's story
I am a former public school teacher who felt called to take education beyond the classroom. Today, I combine my background in education with our farm by teaching youth and adults where their food comes from and how regenerative farming can restore soil, animals, and communities. My husband, Josh, spent over 20 years working in corporate livestock agriculture before we chose to farm full time and build a values-driven operation rooted in transparency and stewardship.
We began our farm in a simple way—with one pig—then added chickens for eggs as we experienced the incredible difference in taste, health, and connection that truly local food provides. What started as feeding our own family grew into serving local households seeking ethically raised meat and meaningful agricultural education. Our farm now supports both food access and hands-on learning through nature-based programs.
Our long-term dream is for our farm to become a resilient food and education hub and a model for other farms with purpose and community at the center. My goal is to continue combining my educational passions to reach youth in public schools and other community organizations through hands-on farm based field trips. This will truly impact our community, bringing connection through the food we eat and the land that sustains us all.
