Aminata's story
Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 40-year-old Aminata from Torkpoi Branch. She is a married businesswoman with three children between the age of 7 and 18 years old. Two are currently attending school. She started this business to take care of her family.
Aminata runs a retail business and sells groundnut and gari by bag to her customers around the communities. She has been in this business for the past two years. Aminata says that her challenge is the increase in cost of transportation, goods and commodities in the country.
She requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase more groundnut and gari by bag to increase her business. Aminata says that the extra income from this loan will help to take care of her family. In the future, she would like to expand to a large scale. She says thanks to BRAC and KIVA for their support.
