Christie's story
Christie is married to a retired United States Veteran. The couple has worked hard to provide for themselves and to maintain their home on their own. They have tried their best to avoid debt, and have chosen to budget and save to make repairs to their home.
She learned recently that their roof had reached its useable life, and now has signs of failure. Due to the couple never utilizing credit, they do not have the credit to obtain a loan at all from most banks, and the few options they have been offered were not affordable ones.
Christie is hoping that SELF and Kiva will help provide an affordable loan for this necessary roof replacement so that the project can be completed before hurricane season rolls around and puts their home at risk.
