Wakulima "A" Group's story

The Wakulima "A" Group consists of five members who share a strong bond of solidarity and mutual support. They are all living in the same district. They joined Victoria Finance Plc in 2025 and since then have proven to be cohesive. Their main activity is horticultural food production. The first person from left side is Maisha, 47 years old, who is the youngest man in the group. He joined Victoria Finance and this group in 2025 to benefit from an agriculture loan. He has been practicing horticulture for over five years and he is witnessing the positive impact that agriculture has brought in his life.

Maisha practices horticulture on 15 acres at Songwe farms. He is seeking a loan from Kiva to buy fertilizers, pesticides and other farming inputs and hopes this will increase his horticultural productivity, hence increasing his income. Since the loan is intended to be invested in his horticulture project expansion, he will use the increased income that is generated to improve provision of his family's basic needs, health insurance, and school fees. He is grateful to Kiva and lenders and promises to repay the loan on time.

In this group: Richard, Ezekiel, Humphrey, Daniely, Maisha
